Part of the team that attended the Pistoia Alliance President’s Series Deep Learning Hackathon in London. The challenge was to devise a way to reconstruct a 3D model of the aorta ( the main artery in the human body) from digital medical image slices. The idea was to support surgeons in detecting and treating Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm by automating the reconstructing process. We used a combination of image processing and machine learning to build an initial prototype and won the runner-up prize for it.
